Crocheting Plastic Shopping Bags
Do you have a giant stash of plastic shopping bags? Do you want to put them to good use? Then boy, do I have a deal for you! Somehow, don’t ask how, I have gotten involved in a very worthy cause. The bag I am modeling has been crocheted by a woman in Africa using strips people have cut and donated for this purpose. If you are intrigued, if you want to get rid of all your plastic bags and feel spectacular while doing it, then click on the link to the Picture Album on the sidebar and click on “Plastic Bags”. It will tell you all you need to know. Except for one thing – what to do with all of them when you are finished. If you know me, which I’m pretty sure you all do, then just mail them to me and I’ll get them to Africa – I have connections. If you don’t know me, check back in a week or so and I’ll post the organization’s info at the end of the pictures or just leave a comment and if you don’t scare me, I might let you mail it to my house.

Awesome instructions, Heather.
I am so on it today at lunch!
I am anxious to get to work and update the
plastic bag donating ladies that all bags are acceptable. By the way, that is a fine hand model in the pictures.
My crazy grandmother has been crocheting plastic bags for years now. We’ve all gotten them for Christmas presents, birthday presents…you name it. It’s good to know that there are others out there who use them. (We usually use them for wet swimsuits and the like).
I know you know me, but can I be on the scary list just for effect?
heather…where can you buy these bags here?
